General

Artist in Residence Initiative
The program provide an opportunity for artists to broaden their experiences and share their skills, while providing Northern Territory schools with greater exposure to the benefits of creative practice. The program also creates opportunities for artists and teachers to work together on developing effective teaching methods and practices for the arts.

Artists in Schools
The aim of the program is to provide students, teachers, parents and the wider community with first-hand opportunities to work with professional artists over a period of time, and experience the creative processes, skills, attitudes and disciplines the artist brings to their work.

Australian Government Sporting Chance Program
This funding is for Sporting Chance Program academies that focus on projects for Indigenous girls and young women. This Australian Government initiative supports programs that use sport as a vehicle to increase the engagement and participation of Indigenous students.

Back to School Payment Scheme
This payment helps families offset the cost of textbooks, stationery, school uniforms, and other essential school items.

Community Based Special Education Program
This program (formally known as the Non-Government Centres Support Program) aims to improve the educational opportunities, learning outcomes and personal development of children with disabilities.

Enterprise grants
The grants support school projects that develop and implement enterprise activities which enhance VET, enterprise and vocational learning.

EnvironmeNT grants
These grants are available to schools throughout the Territory for environmental activities and projects developed by schools. The major objective is to support action based educational projects promoting ecological sustainability and build awareness of the impacts of our personal behaviour and lifestyle choices on the environment.

GrantsLink
An Australian Government website with funding opportunities for individuals, businesses and communities to help develop solutions to local and national problems, fund ideas and initiatives or provide assistance in times of hardship.

NT Early Childhood Services Subsidy
This subsidy is non-discretionary and aims to assist operators of approved education and care services contain the cost of care for parents/guardians and maintain fee charges at an acceptable level. The subsidy is available to long day care and three year old kindy services approved to operate under the Education and Care (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 and prescribed regulations.

NT Long Day Care Upgrade Grant
The grant provides approved not-for-profit long day care services with financial assistance for building and ground upgrades required to ensure compliance with the Education Care and Services (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 and the Education an Care Services National Regulations.

Remote Schools Pathway Grant
This funding is available to help remote schools develop work experience and enterprise programs for students with a disability.

Student Assistance Schemes
The schemes help meet education expenses of students who are disadvantaged by distance or isolation.

Teaching and Learning with ICT: Innovation Grants
The grants assist practising teachers in developing innovative online materials and approaches to improve learning outcomes for students.

Scholarships

Bernie Kilgariff Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship assists young Alice Springs school leavers with completion of their tertiary studies in a medical/health related field. It provides a one-off payment of $3000 for the first year of study.

Higher education scholarships for school leavers
Forty scholarships worth $3500 are available to school leavers to undertake full-time degree studies.

More Indigenous Teachers
The More Indigenous Teachers Initiative (MITI) aims to increase the number of Indigenous teachers in Territory schools through a range of supporting scholarships established in the Department of Education and Children's Services (DECS). We currently support over 40 Indigenous students through these scholarships as they complete a teaching qualification.

NT More Early Childhood Teachers Scholarship Program
The Northern Territory Government is supporting the early childhood workforce to meet the challenges posed by the early childhood sector reforms through the NT More Early Childhood Teachers Scholarship Program. The scholarships assist early childhood educators in meeting the new qualification standards.

Teacher Education Scholarships
The Teacher Education Scholarships program (TES) is one of the Department of Education and Children’s Services key initiatives designed to develop quality teachers. We currently support over 45 students through the TES scholarship as they complete a teaching qualification.

Vocational Education and Training scholarships
Twenty scholarships worth up to $4000 are available to Territorians studying Certificate III to Diploma level courses.

Employer incentives & assistance (Northern Territory Government)
Financial incentives are available for private sector businesses who want to employ additional apprentices and trainees in areas with identified occupational shortages, and from disadvantaged groups.

VET in Schools Program
The program supports VET programs in secondary schools. It aims to give school students training in an industry area that meets their needs and is a priority for economic development in the Territory.
