NT Curriculum Framework

Since 2002 the Northern Territory (NT) has had a mandated Curriculum Framework that identified learning outcomes for all Northern Territory learners from Transition to Year 10. The NTCF describes what learners are expected to achieve and is used to determine what learners have achieved.

With the introduction of the Australian Curriculum, teachers will be using the two curricula; Australian Curriculum and the NTCF to teach, assess and report on. The Northern Territory Curriculum Achievement Standards (pdf 294 kb | word 106 kb) have been developed to support Northern Territory schools to have a consistent assessment and reporting method that aligns with the Australian Curriculum.

Teachers are required to use all of the following NTCF documents (2002 and 2009)
