International services

The Department's International Services Branch coordinates all of our international involvement. This includes:

  • recruiting, placing and providing pastoral care for international students (including dependants of people who hold temporary resident visas)
  • overseeing the Secondary Student Exchange Program and Teacher Exchange Program
  • organising Study Tours
  • advising schools on international activities such as overseas excursions
  • managing the Homestay Program for overseas secondary students
  • Northern Territory registrations for the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS)

About the Northern Territory

The Northern Territory (NT) is in the top end of Australia. It spans over 1.4 million square kilometres of land, from the tropical coastal top end to the arid lands of Central Australia with a population of approximately 200,000. Darwin, the Territory's capital city, is in the north and has a population of about 120 000 people.
